The Pioneer Unit’s scholarship committee administers Unit Scholarships (now known as Herbal Scholars) to our members and college scholarships to deserving students.
In addition, this committee advises the board on charitable giving from our plant sale income.

Madalene Hill Scholarship
Undergraduate Academic Scholarship Award
$2,000 to 4,000 Award
Eligibility Criteria
- The student must be studying Plant Sciences or Horticulture, or Environmental Sciences with a focus on Botany or Food Sciences, or a closely related discipline.
- Permanent residents of Texas who are attending any accredited community college, four-year college or university in Texas are eligible to apply. All applicants must have completed one full year of college.
- Complete the application form, obtain the required letters of recommendation as outlined on the application and submit to the address below.
